序言:
全球人類都已經警覺到氣候暖化，地球資源短缺。時常都聽到各地團體發出“救救地球”,“環保”,“珍惜資源”等呼籲，作為生活在地球上的一份子，我們可以怎樣參與支持呢?
泳池其實是一個最浪費地球資源的一個消閒地方，每日消耗驚人水量。但是如果泳池管理者能懂得擅用資源、配合適當的水質處理方法，那既可以提供泳池的正常活動及設施給人客享用，又可節省經營者在金錢方面的運用，更能間接支持環保，標竿著三嬴局面。
Preface
People are more aware on global warming, natural resources is becoming less and less, everywhere is talking about "Save the World", "Protect the Environment", "Treasure the Resources" etc. Actually, how can people contribute to achieve.
Swimming pool is a place for leisure but of high wastage on natural resources because the usage of water there involves everyday is huge. However, if the management can make good use of the resources, together with an appropriate method in water maintenance, then not only we can provide a good environment for swimming activities, in addition, the management can save money whereas in another manner supporting to save the environment. By these, create a Win-Win-Win situation to the Customer, to the Company and to the Environment.
本會目的:
“香港水質及廢水處理總會" 已經成立了超過15年，主要提供有關泳池水質處理、泳池營運管理、機房器材裝配及機房操作保養課程給有需要人士報讀。本會成立至今已有數以千計的救生員及有關人士參與課程及考取本會的專業知識資格。
雖然泳池有救生員當值，泳客游泳時生命可以得到安全保障。但是除此之外，泳池池水水質亦應該受到嚴格處理。例如: 池水有各類病菌存在，是因為人類及各類動物在水中將病毒傳播，如要徹底保障泳客在池水中避免細菌感染，怎樣保持泳池環境衛生及水質處理亦至為重要。
現代泳池管理，救生員需修讀｢泳池水質處理及機房操作保養｣及｢泳池水質處理及機房操作(進階)保養｣課程增強有關知識；而有關人士亦需修讀 ｢濾水機房操作及器材裝配證書課程｣ 學習當中的專業知識。
Association Objective
The Hong Kong Water and Wastewater Treatment Association was established in 1995. Over the years, we provide training courses on water quality and operation management, equipment installation and maintenance about swimming pool to lifeguards and those who are working in related fields. More than thousands of them have been obtained professional knowledge and qualification on the subjects.
Hence swimmers are taking care of by professional lifeguards while swimming, they are under hidden risk of being contaminated by kinds of communicable disease exist in the pool water. In order to protect the swimmers from infecting, it is important to have effective maintenance on environmental hygiene and treatment of pool water.
To have a modern and effective management on swimming pool, it is essential for the lifeguards and related professionals to strengthen their knowledge through appropriate training courses. Lifeguards are recommended for the "Swimming Pool Care – Maintenance" training course and "Swimming Pool Care - Maintenance (Advanced) training course. Other professionals are suggested for the "Swim Pool Filtration Plant and Equipment Installation" training course.
